Automatic Hand Sanitizer Dispenser
An affordable, touchless hand sanitizer dispenser developed to reduce physical contact and promote hygiene during the COVID-19 pandemic. Version 1 used an Arduino microcontroller, IR sensor, and servo motor to detect hands and dispense sanitizer automatically. Following issues with false triggers and bulky design, Version 2 employed an ultrasonic sensor and solenoid valve for accurate, faster dispensing in a lightweight and ergonomic form. The design includes refill level indicators and was batch-produced for real-world use, demonstrating iterative problem solving and practical embedded system implementation.
